COFFEE WITH SCIENCE - CHALLENGES POSED BY THE MEDICINE OF WILD ANIMALS LIVING IN THE WILD
25 NOV 2018
With Nuno Santos (CIBIO-InBIO)

In rural environments, domestic and wild animals end up by swapping pathogens, which can have consequences for the conservation of sensitive species, such as the Iberian wolf or Bonelli's eagle.

In the last Coffee with Science of the year we will see the biodiversity from the point of view of a veterinarian and realize the role that diseases have on issues of Nature conservation.

Nuno Santos has a B.Sc degree im veterinary sciences from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, a Master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health and a PhD from the University of Minho. He is currently a researcher at CIBIO-InBIO, where he investigates infectious and parasitic diseases in wildlife populations using several model systems.
