GUIDED TOUR IN PORTUGUESE SIGN LANGUAGE: "SILVESTRE PESTANA: TECHNO-FORM"
16 JUL 2016
Guided tour to the exhibition by Laredo Cultural Association.

In partnership with the Laredo Association, Serralves Museum offers a programme for the deaf or hard of hearing. One guided tour in Portuguese Sign Language is available per month to make the exhibitions and spaces of the Serralves Foundation more accessible to this public.

The Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art presents the first major exhibition dedicated to Silvestre Pestana (1949, Funchal, Madeira). A visual artist, poet and performer, over the last five decades Pestana has built up singular work. He was associated with the group of experimental poets who in the 1960s were responsible for the introduction of avant-garde languages in Portugal, establishing the first link with international artistic grammars and engaging in dialogue and collaboration with groups of European and South American artists. Pestana was also a pioneer of performance art in Portugal.
‘Silvestre Pestana: Techno-Form’ is organized by the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto and is curated by João Ribas, Deputy Director and Senior Curator of the Museum, assisted by exhibition curator Paula Fernandes.
