At the end of the second and final edition of Expedition, the project team (Carmo Osul, Horácio Frutuoso, Hugo Soares, Jérémy Pajeanc and Maria Trabulo) presents the publication "Black Box / Log II" which documents the work and projects presented over the last six months by the guest artists. This book launch includes a sound performance by PHANTASMA and LYNCE.

About the Expedition project 
Expedition was an artistic programming project carried out at the invitation of the Saco Azul Cultural Association, held in Porto, in the Maus Hábitos space. It began on September 5, 2013 and its first phase ended on 6 March 2014. The second phase, which is covered by this publication, took place between October 3, 2014 to February 28, 2015. Expedition’s permanent artistic team was formed by Carmo Osul, Horácio Frutuoso, Hugo Soares, Jérémy Pajeanc and Maria Trabulo. André Covas was responsible for the project’s graphic design.
Expedition is a project promoted by the Saco Azul Cultural Association, with support from the Ministry of Culture / DGARTES.

PHANTASMA + DJ LYNCE
São Pedro Centeno and Pedro Santos, respectively. Over the last year they have been focusing on dissemination of Porto’s independent musical panorama, through regular events that go well beyond DJ-ing, looking for a more serious approximation between the sound and visual arts, with posters and visual curatorship by Carla Filipe (these events take place on Thursdays in the Passos Manuel, Porto).

Carmo Osul (Porto, 1989)
Her artwork acts explores the link between memory and fiction, reality and knowledge and the status of representation as a work of art. Her visual art focuses, in a multidisciplinary manner, on the field of installation. She has presented her work on a regular basis, in solo and group exhibitions, since 2012.

Horacio Frutuoso (1991)
Lives and works in Porto. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, which awarded him the Visual Arts acquisition prize 2012/2013. He was a member of the SINTOMA performance research team, of the curator group of Painel, and o-author and member of the artistic team of the Expedition project (Porto). He has professional training in blown glass melting, moulding and production techniques from CENCAL, Marinha Grande. In 2014, he began the editorial and art direction project, DrumondFrutuoso, with John Drummond. He has exhibited his art work regularly since 2009, collaborating with other artists in other projects. In production of his work he is especially interested in painting and performance.

Hugo Soares
Born in Viana do Castelo. 

Jérémy Pajeanc (Paris, 1989) 
Lives and currently studies between Porto and Marinha Grande. He graduated in Fine Arts - Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, between 2007 and 2012. Born in Paris in 1988, where he undertook his initial training, he is currently teaching at the Porto School of Education (Escola Superior de Educação) since 2012, in the areas of sculpture and ceramics, for the Visual Arts and Artistic Technologies course. In parallel he is pursuing research into the relationship between art and science in the world of glassmaking, in partnership with INED (ESE-IPP) and CENCAL (Marinha Grande). His artistic work has also focused on this field. He has developed his artistic work and regularly participated in solo and group exhibitions since 2009, in several cities in Portugal and abroad. He is a member of the Expedition group.

Maria Trabulo (Porto, 1989)
Lives and works between Vienna and Porto. She is currently studying in the Angewandte Kunst Akademie in Vienna where she is pursuing in-depth research on issues that have become regular themes in her personal artistic practice. Her work focuses on transversality and is concerned with current social issues. In 2012, she concluded her BA Hons degree in Fine Arts from FBAUP. Since then she has since taken an active role in the development of the local art scene, focusing on collaborative works. She was a founding member of the Sintoma collective and the Expedition project, both operating in Porto. She has regularly exhibited her work since 2009 and since then has participated in several national and international group exhibitions, in independent and institutional spaces. She has presented solo exhibitions in the cities of Porto, Lisbon, Reykjavik, Kassel and Cologne. She has undertaken several artist residencies, and has received awards for her work from leading institutions.
