PRESENTATION OF THREE BOOKS LINKED TO THE OEUVRE OF JORGE MOLDER

Presentation of the books "Un Dimanche” by Jorge Molder, ‘Negro Teatro de Jorge Molder” by Alberto Ruiz de Samaniego and "Rei Capitão Soldado Ladrão” (King Soldier Captain Thief) by Jorge Molder. The three books linked to the oeuvre of Jorge Molder, published by Documenta, will be presented to the public by the authors.

The authors

Jorge Molder (Lisbon, 1947), writer and photographer, studied philosophy at the Universidade Clássica, Lisbon. He was a member of the staff of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation as a consultant from 1990 onwards. From 1994, he was director of the Centre of Modern Art. As a photographer, Jorge Molder has a very important domestic and international career. He was a guest artist at the Bienal de São Paulo in 1994 and represented Portugal in the Venice Biennale in 1999. In 2007 he won the AICA award and, in 2010, the EDP / Arte Grand Prize.

Alberto Ruiz de Samaniego (1966), is professor of Aesthetics at the University of Vigo. His written works include the following: "una estética de lo neutro” (1999); "Semillas del tiempo” (1999); "La inflexión posmoderna: los márgenes de la modernidad” (2004); "James Casebere” (2005); "Belleza de otro mundo. Apuntes sobre algunas poéticas del inmovilismo” (2005); "Ser y no ser. Figuras en el dominio de lo espectral”
(2013); "Las horas bellas. Escritos sobre cine” (2015).

This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition, "Jorge Molder - un dimanche ...", curated by António Gonçalves, held in the Galeria Ala da Frente, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, from 30 May to 11 September 2015.

Book published on the occasion of the exhibition, Jorge Molder Rico pobre mendigo ladrón in the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid from February 5 to May 17, 2015.

Rei Capitão Soldado Ladrão (King Captain Soldier Thief)
Catalogue of the exhibition of the same name organised in the framework of attribution to Jorge Molder of the 2010 EDP Foundation / Arte Prize, presented by the EDP Foundation and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in the Chiado Museum, from November 28, 2013 to February 23, 2014 .
