WOOL PREPARATION AND SPINNING – FREE EXPERIMENTATION
29 OCT 2016
In this workshop, families can learn more about Wool - how it is processed, from the sheep to the thread.
All the participants will become familiar with the sheep of the Entre-Douro-e-Minho Bordaleira race, which inhabit Serralves Farm and also Portugal’s other indigenous sheep breeds, including real samples of the wool from each breed.
It will also be possible to experiment, under supervision, with the entire process that takes us from the raw wool to the thread, using specific wool processing tools and other equipment, such as carding combs, spindles and spinning wheels.
