2 APR 2017 | INAUGURATION OF THE EXHIBITION, "FERNANDO LANHAS - FRAGMENTS: SOME WORKS FROM THE SERRALVES COLLECTION"
The exhibition "Fernando Lanhas - Fragments: Some works from the Serralves collection" was inaugurated on April 1, 2017, in Guarda Municipal Theatre. Fernando Lanhas (Porto, 1923-2012), like all architects, strove to understand the geometry of the world. This aim was furthered by his academic training and also by his work as a painter, draftsman, archaeologist, paleontologist, astronomer, ethnologist and poet. His pictorial work, which helps us understand how painting can contribute to knowledge of the world, cannot, as we shall see, be separated from his many other activities, that occupied him for more than 50 years.
