IMAGES DU MONDE VISIONNAIRE / UN HOMME QUI DORT
25 FEB 2018
CYCLE "ÁLVARO LAPA: ALL OF TIME”: PERFORMING ARTS . CINEMA . TALKS

Henri Michaux, Images du Monde Visionnaire (Images from the Visionary World), 1964, 34 min.
Produced for the Swiss pharmaceutical firm, Sandoz, which became famous for synthesising LSD in 1938, Images from the Visionary World, by Henri Michaux and Eric Duvivier is an educational film about the hallucinogenic effects of mescaline and hashish. The film proposes to show different types of images, as well as the specific manner in which they appear and disappear in the imagination of an individual when exposed to these psychotropic substances.

Georges Perec e Bernard Queysanne, Un homme qui dort (A Sleeping Man), 1974, 77 min. (Imagem)
The story of a sociology student who one morning refuses to get out of bed, A Sleeping Man is also - and in the wake of the imaginary universe created after May 1968 - the portrait of a young man who goes into hibernation, in a state of absolute indifference and radical dissent in relation to consumer society. The reflection developed by Perec in relation to the infra-ordinary is combined herein with a fundamental renunciation, forcing us to think about the frontiers between madness and extreme lucidity.
