THERE IS LIFE IN THE PARK! - BIOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS
15 JUL 2018

ITINERARY, 11:30-12:30
With Cristina Garcia (Researcher at CIBIO-InBIO - Research Center on Biodiversity and Genetic Resources)

The world depends upon interaction. No species, community or individual can live in isolation, disconnected from its surrounding environment. Parasitism, commensalism, facilitation or mutualism are the different types of interaction observed in ecosystems.

During this itinerary we will seek and explore the diversity of interactions and relationships present in such a complex system as Serralves Park and the benefits that ecosystems receive from these same interactions.

Meeting point: Serralves Farm
Capacity: 25 participants
Target audience: families and the general public

Access: cost per adult € 5; free entrance for children up to 12 years old; 50% discount for young people between 13 and 18 years.

FAMILIES WORKSHOP, 10:00-13:00
IMPROBABLE FRIENDSHIPS IN NATURE

Living beings establish unlikely and surprising interactions: ants that protect butterflies, algae that depend on fungi, plants that feed on insects, and even spices that inhibit microbes.

Let's enter this fascinating world and discover the improbable relationships between the Park’s living creatures.

Coordination: Mundo Científico
Location: Lagar (Serralves Farm)
Target audience: families
