Ângela Ferreira, was born in Mozambique and lived for many years in South Africa. She is one of Portugal’s best known young artists. Her work provides a strongly critical questioning of historical, social and ideological references and codes, through use of photography, sculpture and video. She has taken part in important international exhibitions, such as the 1st and 2nd Art Biennials in Johannesburg and the 1st Biennial in Lima (Peru).
