INSTALLATION " THERE IS LIGHT IN THE PARK" 2015

The UN General Assembly declared 2015 as the "International Year of Light". In the year that celebrates the importance of light for human beings in its various dimensions - energy, health, safety, economic impact, among many others - Serralves Park, a complex living and dynamic system, is also celebrating light as an essential factor for human existence. As a result, on each evening during this installation, the Park will be illuminated and open to the general public.From the Alameda dos Liquidâmbares to the Farm, passing through the Villa, the Parterres, the Rose Garden, Arboretum, the Woodlands and the Lake, spanning various itineraries, remarkable trees and iconic constructions will be decoratively lit, thus transforming the Park’s nocturnal environment into a unique and unforgettable experience.
NOCTURNAL VISITS TO THE PARK Visit the Park at night, wandering freely or as part of a guided tour and rediscover its special charm, or let yourself be charmed for the first time by this historic garden - a unique example of European landscape art.The Park will remain open until much later than normal: the lights will be switched on at 9 p.m., but from July 4 to August 16, the park is open from 10 am until midnight every day.Access: subject to purchasing a Park ticket (ticket office open until 11 p.m.).
