Massimo Bartolini is one of the best-known and most prestigious Italian artists of the younger generations. Working within a field that tends to be described as the “expanded field of sculpture” – that lies somewhere between architecture, urbanism and performance – the artist transforms the spaces where he works by means of distinctive use of architectural elements, light and sound, generating paradoxical spatial experiences and great physical intensity. At Serralves, the artist will present a new project together with two older works.
