THE TASTE OF CINEMA - Moment XI

At the end of January, we will resume our marathon of films that speak to us and which we speak about. This time the course will embark on a tour around part of the world, based on the theme of "portable Gardens", that guides the work of Serralves’ Educational Service.
In principle, within the Western universe of ideas, we imagine that instead of being a forced and inevitable Vale of Tears, instead of being an improbable sea of roses, beyond the rivers of ink and blood in which our history is submerged, the world was once a garden. What masks and avatars has the cinema produced on the basis of this lost garden? In what manner does mankind’s condemnation to toil and labour (by the sweat of his brow...) mark his gestures and the images that he has produced over time?
