At a time when those who stand for “mainstream” cinema seem to conspire against the fragile structures that support the creation of objects deemed unfeasible from the commercial point of view, some young and not so young filmmakers insist in making films inhabited by doubt, by questioning, by indignation and by awe. Besides showing and stimulating the debate on reference films, as well as on recent works whose merit has been widely acknowledged, this MOMENT XV of the cycle THE TASTE OF CINEMA proposes a brief incursion into the panorama of Portuguese production that takes place away from box-office imposed constraints and whose relevance may thus come to b further acknowledged and esteemed. As Godard suggested, the task of the spectator is also to confront vague ideas and clear images.
