Sixth and final session of the film programme Cine-Afinidades: Filipa César et al., running parallel to the Meteorizações exhibition. The session will feature a screening of the film Marinho de Pina and Filipa César's Resonance Spiral (2024).

Offering an overview of practices, generations, and production contexts that, while very different, converge on the same type of ethical, aesthetic, or thematic concerns, this cycle reflects on a cinema that does not merely seek to describe the world, but above all to act upon it. It is, above all, a series of encounters that share a radical attention to the conditions of image production and their consequences in the world.

RESONANCE SPIRAL

The centrifugal movement once described the tactical and situational beginnings of an anti-colonial armed struggle. In a flow of gestures and recurrences, a building designed to preserve the stories of Guinean militant cinema—a portal to make the audiovisual archives of the country's revolutionary movement accessible to the public—is collectively imagined and built by the traditional community of Guinean militant filmmaker Sana na N'Hada. The future is set aside to make way for what is to come. “Resonance Spiral” is a captivating and meticulous effort to build a community through cinema.
