Andreas Trobollowitsch is an Austrian electroacoustic musician, composer, and sound artist based in Vienna. He studied musicology and jazz theory in Vienna and Paris and wrote his dissertation on spatial approaches in the compositions of Karlheinz Stockhausen and John Cage. He works extensively in the fields of electroacoustic composition and improvisation, and has composed for dance, theatre, film, and radio. Recently, he has focused mainly on conceptual compositions, sound installations, and self-developed musical instruments based on systems of rotation, vibration, and feedback. An interest in the dichotomy between the intellectual and the physical is apparent as he includes visual aspects, spatiality, movement, and their relationships to sound.

Some festival appearances include Festival Novas Frequências (Rio de Janeiro), Lisboa Soa (Lisbon), Tsonami Festival (Valparaíso), Festival Maintenant (Rennes), Festival Dotolimpic (Seoul), Sonica (Ljubljana), Cynetart Dresden, Elevate (Graz).

And venues such as: SuperDeluxe Club Tokyo, Ex Teresa Arte Actual Mexico City, Condit Buenos Aires, MAM  Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Art of Rio de Janeiro, Instituto Moreira Salles in São Paulo, The Renaissance Society Chicago, Harvestworks New York.

He has released CDs and DVDs on schraum Berlin, Monotype Records Warsaw, Filmarchiv Austria Vienna, Crónica Porto, Sonoscopia Porto, mAtter Tokyo, Futura Resistenza Brussels/Rotterdam and Wire Tapper, Below The Radar Special Edition. He has been awarded the Austrian State Scholarship for Composition, the Start Stipendium for music and performing arts, as well as various commissions and grants.
