As part of the retrospective exhibition Maurizio Cattelan: Sussurro, the Serralves Foundation is pleased to invite you to a special event dedicated to the work of one of the most emblematic and provocative artists of our time.
The programme will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition led by Bernard Blistène and Philippe Vergne, Director of the Museum and curator of the exhibition.
This will be followed by a conversation and presentation of the book Sussurro — which accompanies the exhibition and delves deeper into the artist’s universe. The event will conclude with a book signing session.
Alongside a visual essay by the artist himself, Sussurro features three distinct and insightful perspectives on his work by Cecilia Alemani, Bernard Blistène, and Philippe Vergne. Organized by the curator, the publication highlights how humour, provocation, and history intersect in Cattelan’s practice, underscoring the belief that art is a tool to question reality and its conventions.
