With a unique, markedly empirical and multidisciplinary career, Jorge Jácome (Viana do Castelo, 1988) investigates the relationships between utopia, melancholy, disappearance and desire in works that blur the boundary between documentary and fiction. His innovative approach, marked by unexpected relationships and unusual encounters, invites a sense of introspection and fantasy. As a builder of fictional projects, he has been exploring different ways to represent reality. Jácome considers that cinema has the power to make real certain things, that we don't have access to, in the sense that everything we see and hear may be something else.

Uma Coisa do Outro Mundo (A Thing from Another World) is his first solo exhibition held in an institutional museum context, for which he has conceived a series of video installations, produced over the past year. The exhibition will also feature an important parallel program. Over the coming months visitors will be invited to discover his main films, in a dedicated film series held in Serralves Auditorium.

The exhibition Jorge Jácome: Uma Coisa do Outro Mundo (A Thing from Another World) is produced by the Serralves Foundation - Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto in close collaboration with the artist and is curated by Filipa Loureiro.
