Meteorisations, Filipa César's first anthological exhibition in Portugal, brings together more than fifteen years of research, production and collaborations.

The exhibition presents films, objects and documents that evoke historical events such as Portuguese anti-fascist disobedience and Guinean anti-colonial resistance, drawing on audiovisual archives from the period of liberation struggles, reflections on the mangrove, the politics of optics and weaving, and the agropoetic thinking of Amílcar Cabral.

The title refers to a geological concept used by Cabral to think about the relationship between territory, history, and transformation, guiding the exhibition's trajectory and the way images, sounds, and memories are presented. Meteorisations articulates different times and materials, inviting the public to reflect on processes and poetics of resistance and their use in the present.

The exhibition is organised by the Serralves Foundation — Museum of Contemporary Art, curated by Inês Grosso, chief curator of the Serralves Museum, and Paula Nascimento, guest curator. The exhibition's architecture - designed in collaboration with Barbosa Mateus Arquitetos - uses natural materials and incorporates a soundscape created by João Polido Gomes.

a conversation between a djembe, a ngoni and a violin. three instruments, three geographies, three languages. Marinho Pina, Demba Djabaté and Edvânia Moreno immerse themselves in the magic of the ancient djalis or bards or troubadours, summoning memories, stories and improvisations, touching three threads of the soul of Filipa César's oneiric universe.
