Joan Punyet Miró Marko Daniel Joan Punyet Miró (Palma de Mallorca, 1968) holds a degree in art history from NYU (1995). He has written books on Joan Miró, such as Miró: Le peintre aux étoiles, Paris 1993; Miró in his Studio, London 1996; Al voltant de Miró, Barcelona 2014; Miró & Music, Barcelona 2017, and along with Jean Marie de Moral, The Miró Eye, Madrid 2015. He is co-author, with Joan Gardy Artigas, of Joan Miró-Josep Llorens Artigas. Catalogue raisonné. Ceramics, Paris 2007.He has curated the following exhibitions: "Calder”, at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona (1997); "Joan Miró: Graphic Work” at the Fundació Tren de l’Art Ferrocaril de Sóller in Palma (2014) and "Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró: The Story of a Friendship” at Can Prunera Museu Modernista de Sóller (2017), and co-curated "Joan Miró. Esculturas 1928-1982” at Centro Botín in Santander (2018). He has also collaborated and been an adviser to a number of shows related to Joan Miró and has contributed with essays for some of the catalogues. Marko Daniel (Aachen, Germany, 1964) was awarded a degree in History of Art and Philosophy by University College London (1988), a PhD in History and Theory of Art by the University of Essex (1989), and is an expert on Chinese and Catalan contemporary art. Daniel developed a teaching career at the Winchester School of Art (part of the University of Southampton) (Lecturer 1994-2001, and Director of Graduate School 2003-2006); at the Department of Visual Communication, Da Yeh University and at the Center for Art and Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts, both in Taiwan; and as a Vice-Chair (since 2009) and faculty (since 2006) of the London Consortium. In 2006, Marko Daniel joined Tate Modern in London as Curator Public Programmes, managing the museum’s public programmes team. Since 2011 he has held the post of Convenor of Public Programmes for the two London sites of Tate, Tate Modern and Tate Britain. Amongst other projects, Marko Daniel was co-curator, with Matthew Gale and Teresa Montaner, of Joan Miró: The Ladder of Escape, shown between 2011 and 2012 at Tate Modern in London, the National Gallery of Art in Washington in the US, and at the Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona. Director of Fundació Joan Miró since January 2018.
