At the culmination of a trilogy that investigated and wandered through the materiality of doubt — 'a fog machine e outros poemas para o teu regresso' (2021) — and the transcendence of the gaze in the face of opacity — 'radiografia' (2023) — 'Uma Linha de Luz na Água' is an attempt to dive into the philosophical depths of water, an unstable and diverse surface from which João Reis and Nuno Aroso — with an original text by Andreia C. Faria, lighting and scenography by Pedro Fonseca, and original music by Chiyoko Szlavnics and Nuno Aroso himself — trace a kind of constant flow of stimuli in which water is continuous movement: it washes, carries, crosses, curves around, invades, resists, fills. It carries with it a sediment of contamination and regeneration, of matricial force, of an endless appeal to dissolution, to the fluidity of memory.
Obscurity and transparency, reflections, dissonances, flashes of light and shadow — all in order to learn, time and again, how to walk upon water.
