The 'Cylene' cycle is a project created by François J. Bonnet, (Director of INA GRM & operating as Kassel Jaeger) and Stephen O’Malley (of SUNN O))), KTL). Long-term collaborators around editorial projects like Recollection GRM Portraits GRM labels, Bonnet and O’Malley started this duo project in summer 2018 as a commission from Atonal festival at Kraftwerk in Berlin. Their first album was released on Editions Mego in 2019 while 'Cylene II' came out in 2023 on Chicago-based label Drag City. Their music suggests a world at the same time serene and anxious, evoking the calm before or after the storm, without excluding, from time to time, the storm itself.
