'Twenty-fourth screening of the film programme Manoel de Oliveira e o Cinema Português 3, held in conjunction with the third part of the exhibition of the same name. The screening will feature Manuel Mozos' “Ruínas” (2009), with the director in attendance to present the film.

Fragments of space and time, remnants of eras and places inhabited only by memories and ghosts. Traces of things that time, the elements, nature, and human action itself have altered and continue to alter. Over time, everything ceases to be, eventually transforming into something else. Places that no longer make sense, are no longer necessary, or are no longer in vogue. Forgotten, obsolete, inhospitable, empty places. It is not important here to explain why they were created and existed, nor the reasons why they were abandoned or transformed. Only an idea—perhaps a poetic one—is put forward, about something that was and is part of this country’s history or histories.
