Two series of readings that, directly or indirectly, shed light on the events surrounding April 25, 1974.
37 + 37 voices of readers invited for this purpose, by Amarante Abramovici and Regina Guimarães, will attempt to recreate the peculiar emotional landscape created by a sudden acceleration of historical becoming, in a country morally exhausted by thirteen long years of a colonial war with no end in sight and almost half a century of dictatorship.
Here, for a moment, Amílcar Cabral is a neighbor of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, Natália Correia crosses paths with Vasco Gonçalves, Caetano Veloso takes a hint from Fernando Pessoa, Vítor Silva Tavares confronts Agustina Bessa Luís, Ana Hatherly drinks tea with herself, José Afonso calls a spade a spade. And so on, here/at home.
