OBSERVATÓRIO NATURAL

The Gardens of the Vila Flor Cultural Centre have become a natural observatory of Guimarães’ urban biodiversity. The images shown here were taken by photographer Jorge Sarmento at different sites across the city, such as Penha, the City Park, Veiga de Creixomil, among others, and they feature different species of flora and fauna from the region. Parks, green zones and pedagogic gardens, which foster a direct relationship to the human scale, are particularly important for biodiversity in the urban context.
