OLIVEIRA, READER OF CAMILO

To mark the bicentenary of Camilo Castelo Branco’s birth, the Manoel de Oliveira Cinema House will present Oliveira, leitor de Camilo (Oliveira, Reader of Camilo), a programme comprising two film screenings followed by discussions. Conceived and moderated by Tânia Furtado Moreira, the series will explore the distinctive way in which Manoel de Oliveira engaged with the figure and literary work of Camilo Castelo Branco. The programme will feature screenings of O Dia do Desespero (1992) and Francisca (1981).
