Celebrating the long-standing partnership between the Serralves Foundation and Sogrape, Caves Ferreira are hosting the presentation of a group of works from the Serralves Collection by two Portuguese artists from different generations, Ana Léon (Lisbon, 1957) and Ricardo Jacinto (Lisbon, 1975).

Ricardo Jacinto (Lisbon, 1975) is a visual artist and musician with a background in architecture. His multidisciplinary training is reflected in his artistic practice, crossing sculpture, sound, and performance in installations that transform the perception of the spaces they occupy. The public has a predominant role in the activation of the work, which is conceived as a sound device, underlining the material and sculptural nature of sound, and defining the space as a performative territory,

Ana Léon belongs to a generation of artists largely responsible for the artistic paradigm shifts which characterised this decade, initially exhibiting alongside Pedro Calapez, Cabrita, José Pedro Croft, Rosa Carvalho and Rui Sanches. Based in Paris for several decades, Ana Léon develops her artistic practice between drawing and animation film, two autonomous means of expression that find occasional intersections. Her drawings Untitled (2007–2008) are distinguished precisely by their kinetic nature, by the suggestion of movement and the dynamism of the organic forms that seemingly float in the void.

This initiative is part of the Touring Exhibitions Programme of the Serralves Collection, which aims to make the Foundation’s collection accessible to different audiences across the country.
