MIGUEL GOMES - FULL RETROSPECTIVE AND CARTE BLANCHE
Bilhete: 3€ Estudante/Jovem, Maiores de 64 e Amigos de Serralves: 1.5€

Miguel Gomes is one of the most distinctive voices in Portuguese and international cinema over the past two decades. As the creator of a body of work that blurs the boundaries between documentary and fiction, as well as between the past and the present, Gomes has forged a cinematic style characterized by ceaseless innovation, somewhere between playful creativity and political unease.
This comprehensive retrospective is a rare opportunity to see or revisit all of his films, from his early short films to the feature-length works that established his reputation, such as Aquele Querido Mês de Agosto, Tabu, the As Mil e Uma Noites trilogy, and his most recent film, Grand Tour.
The full retrospective will be accompanied by a “carte blanche” from the director, in which he shares part of his cinematic universe in the form of a journey through the films that have shaped and influenced his career — films that engage in a dialogue with his own work and that are simultaneously influences and obsessions.
This film series is an invitation to journey through the cinematic imagination of Miguel Gomes, who continues to reinvent the art of telling — and watching — stories on the big screen.
