CRITICISM AND VALUE. A CYCLE OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES

Six conferences whose aim is to rethink the role of values and critical thought in social, cultural and artistic constructions.
Curated by Nuno Crespo and the Art. Criticism. Politics Research Group in collaboration with the Art History Institute of the Social and Human Sciences Faculty of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the Educational Service of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art and Goethe-Institut Lisbon, this programme presents the Cycle of International Conferences Criticism and Value at the Serralves Museum, in Porto, and at the Goethe-Institut, in Lisbon.
Guest speakers include: Andres Lepik, University of Munich and Director of the Museum of Architecture of the Technical University Munich; Isabelle Graw, editor of the magazine Texte zur Kunst and lecturer at the Staatliche Hochschule für bildende Künste – Städelschule, in Frankfurt am Main; Sabeth Buchmann, head of the Art Theory and Cultural Studies Institute of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts; Jacinto Lageira, critic and professor at Université Paris 1 – Sorbonne; João Ribas, Deputy Director of the Serralves Museum; Silvina Rodrigues Lopes, professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, editor of the magazine Intervalo and founder of the publishing house Vendaval.
The lectures presented at the Cycle of International Conferences Criticism and Value will be collected in a book published in partnership with Tinta-da-China.
