Acesso gratuito, sujeito a inscrição no link

The Serralves Bookshop presents the eighth session of Hora do Conto (Storytime), featuring the children’s book" O Ensaio Final", published by Flamingo Edições. The session will include the presence of the author, Leonor Orr, and the illustrator, Filomena Lopes, who will bring the story to life through a reading and an activity especially designed for children and families.
This will be the eighth of many monthly gatherings inviting children and families to step into the universe of books. Each session becomes an immersive experience, where stories—whether read or told—come alive through imagination.
O Ensaio Final addresses a theme familiar to many families: trying out different hobbies and sports — should you continue or give up?
When Pedro decides to try rugby, he faces challenges that make him want to quit, once again.
His mother suggests a motto:
"It’s not fair to give up on a bad day.
If after a wonderful day you still want to quit, that’s fine, I’ll accept it."
This story teaches us that optimism, resilience, and reflection help us make thoughtful decisions, inspiring children and parents to find balance between perseverance and respecting personal limits.
📌 Register now for this session. Admission is free but limited to the venue’s capacity. Each registration form corresponds to one participant only.
Throughout 2025, once a month, children and families are invited to attend Hora do Conto, always on Saturdays at 4:00 pm. More than just listening to a story, it is an interactive moment where words gain voice and movement. Each session transports children, and the families accompanying them, into different universes, sparking creativity and a love for reading.

At 18, she moved to the United Kingdom to study Management and Tourism at the University of Surrey, later completing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Tourism at the same institution. After four years abroad, Leonor felt it was time to return to Portugal, where she has spent the past 15 years between Porto and Lisbon, working in Commercial Management and Consumer Experience. Leonor has always lived life with lightness and optimism. Practical and determined, she exudes positivity. Today, she is the mother of three boys who challenge her from morning to night, and she gives her best to inspire them to view life positively, embrace creativity, face challenges with humor, and cultivate lightness for a better world. Reading has always been a passion, but she never imagined writing a book. Her first book brings to life a real story with her eldest son, aiming to inspire other families facing similar challenges, while showing her three children that anything is possible if you truly want it — and believe.
