Fifth session of the cycle of films and talks Modos de Rever: Cinema e o Imaginário do Museu, with programming and moderation by Isabel Lopes Gomes. Following on from the previous film programme, which explored the rapprochement between cinema and the visual arts, this second session seeks to reflect on the representations of the museum in cinema, from different periods in its history to the present day. This session will feature a screening of Nicolas Philibert's Louvre City (1990), followed by a conversation with researcher and translator Joana Frazão and gallery owner Philippe Mendes, moderated by Isabel Lopes Gomes.

This film by Nicolas Philibert is a journey into the museum's reserves, and part of the extra work needed to set up the exhibitions after the Louvre's renovation in the 1980s, when the glass pyramid was added to the classic buildings. From the conservation rooms, through the expert retouching of mouldings and paintings, to the staff's instructions on how to effectively protect the collections and present them to visitors.
