The Serralves Foundation hosts the presentation of the book RAIAT – Trofa Town Hall on October 29, at 6:30 pm, in the Serralves Library. The book launch will feature a conversation with José Carlos Oliveira, author of the architectural project, Pedro Cardigo, photographer and editor of RAIAT – Trofa Town Hall, Rita Topa, partner at Kengo Kuma & Associates, and Sara Nunes, founder of Building Pictures, moderated by António Choupina, Director of Architecture at the Serralves Foundation.
In RAIAT – Trofa Town Hall, Pedro Cardigo takes us through the new Trofa Town Hall, a project by the NOARQ studio, signed by architect José Carlos Nunes de Oliveira. Through the use of black and white, the building is revealed as a sculptural and silent body, where light and shadow construct a visual narrative of great intensity.
The gaze lingers on contrasts, rigorous geometries, juxtapositions, and transitional spaces that give the work its symbolic and institutional dimension. Each image is an invitation to contemplate architecture as both experience and presence in the territory.
This volume inaugurates the arch+ collection, created and conceived by Pedro Cardigo, dedicated to photographic essays on contemporary architecture. An authorial edition that celebrates architecture as art, memory, and testimony of the present time.
