A Biblioteca da Fundação de Serralves oferece uma perspetiva surpreendente do mundo da arte contemporânea, apresentando uma seleção de obras recentemente adquiridas para a Coleção de Livros e Edições de Artista de Serralves. Esta exposição apresenta obras de Tauba Auerbach, Liz Deschenes, Maurizio Cattelan, Jonathan Monk, Rirkrit Tiravanija, e Slavs and Tatars. Adicionalmente, inclui um conjunto escolhido de livros da editorial francesa onestar press, destacando o valor da impressão para numerosos artistas que exploram este meio para expandir as suas práticas.

Benoît Maire is a contemporary French artist renowned for his multidisciplinary practice encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, installation and performance. He often questions the nature of art, perception and meaning through his work, exploring the boundaries between different art forms and between art and philosophy. Benoît Maire received his master degree from the Villa Arson in Nice (France, 2003) and a master's degree in Philosophy from Sorbonne, Paris 1 (France, 2002).     Benôit Maire   Several institutions have devoted solo exhibitions to Benoît Maire, including the Bielefelder Kunstverein (Germany), CAPC musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Kunsthalle Mulhouse and the FRAC Aquitaine in Bordeaux (France), the David Roberts Foundation in London and Spike Island in Bristol (UK), the Vleeshal in Middelburg (Netherlands), the Fondazione Guiliani in Rome (Italy). In 2018, an important monograph was published. Winner of the Fondation d’entreprise Pernod Ricard Prize in 2010, and the the Solo Prize at Art Brussels 2017, Benoît Maire was also in residency at the Palais de Tokyo in 2006 and at the Villa Medici in Rome in 2021-2022.   His work is present in collections such as the KADIST Art Foundation (Paris, France), the David Roberts Foundation (London, United Kingdom), the CAPC Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux (France), the Nomas Foundation (Rome, Italy), the Centre Pompidou (Paris, France), the FNAC Fonds National d'Art Contemporain (Paris, France), the Fondazione Giuliani (Rome, Italy), the Mac/Val (Vitry-sur-Seine, France), the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco and the Vancouver Art Gallery (Canada).
