Anagramas improváveis. Obras da Coleção de Serralves

WINDOWS TO LOOK IN is part of Lorenzo Senni's research path, which in the past has dealt with themes such as voyeurism and vandalism. For this project, the artist created a work consisting of 14 photographs, with 5 being shown in Serralves, and a musical composition, exploring the concept of "false reflectivity" conferred to the work by the special paint with which he creates the photographed subjects. These evoke the act of looking and looking at oneself, the need to compromise one's self.

The work is previewed with an exhibition at the Fundação de Serralves in Porto and the entire project will be promoted internationally through a series of dedicated events, realized in collaboration with the Bourse de Commerce in Paris and the Munch Museum in Oslo.

At the end of the international promotion, WINDOWS TO LOOK IN will be exhibited at MAXXI - Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo in L’Aquila, and will become part of its permanent collection.

The entire artistic process will be documented in a film curated by Courtney Harrenmberg and a publication that will be presented at the Fondazione ICA in Milan.

WINDOWS TO LOOK IN is curated by Threes, a cultural agency based in Milan.

It is supported by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council program (12th edition, 2023), which aims to promote Italian contemporary art worldwide.

Lorenzo Senni (1983) is a multidisciplinary artist, composer and producer, originally from Cesena and based in Milan. He studied musicology at DAMS in Bologna. For Senni, visual art and music are part of a single artistic thought; this is evident in the work he did in collaboration with John Divola for the cover of his latest album, 'Scacco Matto', and in performances such as 'Vandalize Music'. Throughout his career, he has performed and exhibited his work in internationally renowned institutions including Centre Pompidou Paris, MACBA, TATE Modern, MAXXI Rome, Serpentine Gallery London, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca Milan. Senni is also the first Italian artist to have released the EP 'Persona' on the prestigious British label Warp Records in 2016, with which he won the prestigious Prix Ars Electronica. The artist has also composed some of the music for director Yuri Ancarani's films, including Da Vinci, The Challenge and Atlantis.
